EXPANDING YOUR VOCABULARY

LESSON 13

John is going away for a few weeks, so he has asked his sister to pack his trunk.

She puts into the trunk half-a-dozen shirts and drawers, several pairs of socks, a few neckties, some handkerehiefs, three pair of pyjamas and a dressing-gown. All his shirts have two collars each, so he is well supplied.

She packs his suits with great care so that they do not get creased.

In a shoe-case she packs three or four pair of shoes, his goloshes and his slippers.

As he is going into the country, he will take a felt hat and a cap. In the train he will put on a dust-coat to protect his clothes from dust. His raincoat he will carry with him on the journey, in case it rains on the way, or when he arrives at destination.
